Alley Cat Rescue (ACR) works to protect cats on several levels: locally through rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of cats and nationally through a network of Cat Action Teams, called CAT. ACR is dedicated to the health, well-being and welfare of all cats: domestic, stray, abandoned and feral. We provide vet care (including sterilization), place the cats into an adoption program, and find them permanent loving homes. We have created a national Cat Action Teams network to help callers from all over the United States contact local rescue groups in their area. We advocate a trap/neuter/return (TNR) policy and support humane methods of controlling feral cats. Our work is also international; we held a spay/neuter clinic in Mexico in 2007 and we are working on a TNR program to save the African Wildcat.
