Or did someone set up for votes here no matter where someone votes?

hiya chris :^)

say hi sometime, i am always about somewhere, lately anyway. but i had a bit of a life caused disappearing act for a bit from here too. ha ha, kel thinks it was his computer advice lol. he is such a peach. i have a friend who is involved in a demonstration at a pretty big circus in the netherlands this weekend. pretty bad how they treat them. don't be a stranger. thanks for the link.

Hi Kel, Andrea. I tend to take "sabbaticals" from Vote 4 Cause, and when I do return on-and-off, I don't usually get involved in the chat, (although you wouldn't know it based on the past couple of days, haha).

For anyone interested, I just posted a link to a current Washington Post article at the "Elephant Sanctuary" site about a former elephant trainer who recently blew the whistle on how abhorrently the poor souls are treated for the sake of entertainment. The accompanying photos are heartbreaking. Thanks for whoever started the voting for the Elephant Sanctuary this round (maybe you, Andrea)? Most of the residents living there are rescued former circus or zoo "performers." The physical and psychological abuse they have endured is truly mindboggling.

Anyway, I will now go away and be quiet again. :-) Cheers!

Hey Kel - since the numbers were funny & no one else was here, I have been giving 5 votes to all the causes, then move on to the next. I am easily amused lol!

Hi Chris. I don't know you, but nice to meet you. Ha ha, i agree, silly to get upset over. too bad about the no sponser thing too, this used to be quite the happening place with a lot of good causes getting a bit of help. I have been thinking lately of ways to get sponsers for here, but I wouldn't even know where to begin as far as getting any ideas to marc. but i thought i came up with a good one. anyway, did not mean to be offensive and it is good to meet you.

Please, Marena .... if you were being accused of something that didn't happen, you would be the first one to speak out. BTW, I didn't mean to previously imply that I had been the only one voting for the Alley Cats in these recent rounds, so sorry to the other AC voter(s) about that.

Andrea, there did appear to be something very odd going on for several months --- i.e., when one particular voter would show up, 3 or 4 others would *coincidentally* show up at the exact same time and leave at the exact same time like clockwork. In this current round, there is only one voter posting at the Cancer Society, but the numbers amassed certainly don't jive. If the same thing happens the next round with a different cause, THEN there's an indication that something may be afoot.

If someone needs to cheat to win, (especially at something so mindless and trivial as this!!), then that indicates deep-seated control issues and a lack of character, but then so does whining and complaining and making unsupported/unfounded accusations and snotty comments (again, especially over something so mindless and trivial as this)!!

Your comments, Andrea, about the high numbers being generated by the Cancer Society were innocent. ZZ's weren't, and I didn't appreciate being accused of something that didn't happen. There are one or two individuals left on this site who feel the need to make obnoxious comments regarding how often during the 7-day-period and/or which cause(s) other people should vote for. What's so laughable is that ZZ seems to also get all distressed over the positioning of the NON-#1 spot. Let's all face it, even the #1 spot means nothing anymore, since there appears to be less than a dozen people showing up here during any given week, and basically no money is being generated for the winning causes anymore. What a nonsensical thing to get upset over.

hiya marena & kel, if either of you return.

i do not know either of you, zz & chris, and sorry, did not mean to open a nasty can of worms...just figured there was some sort of glitch.

marena, i heard there was some sort of trouble when i was gone for all that time, but i do not really know what that was all about. i am glad to see you, and hope you are doing well. i am all over the place this round, since no one is really here, but you can always find me at the buffies :^)

ZZ: I don't know what the case is with the American Cancer Society voting this round. There does seem to be something screwy. But maybe there is a glitch in the system, and not some sinister plot by the individual(s) who are voting. Since you don't know, maybe you should keep your accusations to yourself. You lumped Alley Cat Allies and the American Cancer Society together in your latest accusation. I can assure you that I certainly am not voting for the American Cancer Society since it engages in such hideous animal experiments. There are many cancer charities that don't torture animals. I DID vote for Alley Cat Allies steadily last Sunday for several hours since I was stuck in front of my computer finishing up a project. I voted a bit on Monday, and not at all on Tuesday, since I was away from my computer. So, so much for your postulation that Marc had caught on to some "wrongness" perceived by you. The current apparent glitch with the Cancer Society aside, exactly who are YOU anyway to complain about how often someone chooses to vote? There was/is no "well organized relay team" with Alley Cat Allies. In fact the total number of votes for the whole 7 day period was around 250 or less. YOU could have easily voted just as many times for your cause. There is no conspiracy, and speaking for the Alley Cats, there has been no "hacking", so kindly stop whining and keep your paranoid accusations to yourself.

There is a little gadget known as an "IPR" - V4C works by recording the IP address that is voting - if you use an IPR it is quite possible for a single voter to register between 5 - 8 votes every 5 mins .... so at least 100 per hour.
