Buffalo Field Campaign
PO Box 957
West Yellowstone, MT 59758
Description:
The Buffalo Field Campaign (BFC) is the only group working in the field, everyday, to stop the slaughter and harassment of Yellowstone's wild buffalo. Volunteers from around the world defend buffalo on their traditional winter habitat and advocate for their protection. Our daily patrols stand with the buffalo on the ground they choose to be on, and document every move made against them. Volunteers spend all day, from sunrise until sunset, watching and documenting actions taken against the buffalo. We run patrols from cars, skis and snowshoes to protect buffalo outside the park. Tactics range from video documentation to nonviolent civil disobedience. BFC enjoys incredible support and participation from the local community. Residents allow us to post signs on their property designating them as 'Buffalo Safe Zones.' We offer a fence repair service to mitigate damage caused by wildlife. Locals join us on our daily rounds, and many support our patrols with hot drinks and food. All of our work happens because people are willing to take a break from their usual schedules and come help. Over 3000 people from all over the country and around the world have joined us in our log cabin on Hebgen Lake to help stop the buffalo slaughter. We feed and house all our volunteers in our cabin and Gardner satellite camp. Volunteers patrol for buffalo by skis, snowshoes, or cars. Everyone communicates by a network of hand-held radios, and also carries a video camera. Our office runs outreach programs, including slide and video presentations, summer tabling in Yellowstone Park, website and e-mail updates, and national media coverage through press releases and video.

I need a procedure called ATRIAL FIBRILLATION ABLATION and possibly a Pacemaker as well. We have absolutely no medicare, national health or anything remotely like it (except for civil servants, armed forces (both retired and active)and their families. My insurance cancelled my medical cover 5 years ago when I turned 65. No one will keep you insured after that age...

wow, sounds like you had a really crappy day. i hate those. i know i have no way to put myself in your shoes, but no matter how bad it seems like life sucks, remember the alternative (death) sucks a lot worse. I have been pretty close to death on a couple of crappy occasions that i won't go into, but it has made me look at life like this - every day i wake up is a good day; some are just better than others. I do not know what operation you need to have, but there has to be a way to get it done. i don't know how things work in your country, but it just seems like there should be some kind of help somewhere....at the very least, can you have it done, have them bill you, and pay like $10/month? you can actually do that here, and they have to accept it if the hospital gets state money and as long as you keep sending the 10 dollars.

Hi Irish...how was your date with the Doctor today? Ialso spent 6 hours at IJN (National Heart Institute) had my blood sucked by the "Vampires" for Wafarin dosage adjustment, prodded, probed etc etc etc. Unfortunately the Cardiologist's prognosis was not very encouraging. There is now a 14 day window (between today and December 8th) where he wants to do the surgery - but I still don't have the $50,000 for it. Life really sucks BIGTIME.....!!!

Yayy thank you for the help! nighty night to you miss marena. i think maybe whatever is going on with you is also hard on your david too. it must be so difficult for him to watch you struggle with what you are dealing with, and men are not generally good at dealing with stuff like that. men have this mentality that they are "fixers" - as men they fix whats wrong and especially when it comes to those they love. and he loves you, but cannot "fix" your hurt and illness. that's when a man gets freaky & defensive, because they do not know how to handle it. Pray for him and try to be patient with him too, i think maybe it is not easy to be a man. but i know he loves you.
