Buffalo Field Campaign
PO Box 957
West Yellowstone, MT 59758
Description:
The Buffalo Field Campaign (BFC) is the only group working in the field, everyday, to stop the slaughter and harassment of Yellowstone's wild buffalo. Volunteers from around the world defend buffalo on their traditional winter habitat and advocate for their protection. Our daily patrols stand with the buffalo on the ground they choose to be on, and document every move made against them. Volunteers spend all day, from sunrise until sunset, watching and documenting actions taken against the buffalo. We run patrols from cars, skis and snowshoes to protect buffalo outside the park. Tactics range from video documentation to nonviolent civil disobedience. BFC enjoys incredible support and participation from the local community. Residents allow us to post signs on their property designating them as 'Buffalo Safe Zones.' We offer a fence repair service to mitigate damage caused by wildlife. Locals join us on our daily rounds, and many support our patrols with hot drinks and food. All of our work happens because people are willing to take a break from their usual schedules and come help. Over 3000 people from all over the country and around the world have joined us in our log cabin on Hebgen Lake to help stop the buffalo slaughter. We feed and house all our volunteers in our cabin and Gardner satellite camp. Volunteers patrol for buffalo by skis, snowshoes, or cars. Everyone communicates by a network of hand-held radios, and also carries a video camera. Our office runs outreach programs, including slide and video presentations, summer tabling in Yellowstone Park, website and e-mail updates, and national media coverage through press releases and video.

Well, David seemed to have realised last night that it's not really my fault. I didn't get this ill and end up in a wheelchair on purpose. He has sort of recovered a bit and took me along to do the grocery shopping last evening. My first outing in almost 2 weeks. I'm just so worried he might have a nervous break-down with all the worries and stress.

Marena, I hope you are happy and fulfilled today. I hope your David is feeling better and all of your moggies are snuggling and lifting your spirits high. Much love to you dear Lady Marena.

Have a most excellent day!

Aye darlin' I will. Good news is 1 - he will be immune to flu for rest of season, and 2 - our Jesus took all of the sickness - I will be praying for David's recovery - he is blessed to have you for a wife! I think he must praise God in his heart every time he looks at you! by the way, I did not know he played keyboards - how cool to play for worship. My Barry is a drummer, and after the first of the year is hoping to get in the new rotation - he says he could worship so much more playing for God - how cool!

Thank you much for the 300 - that was totally you! I must be off to beddie bye - 5:30 comes mighty early....it is my week for coffee, besides I go to a small "sunday school" (ha ha, Pastor Louie always teases us by calling it that, says it reminds him of the awful classes he had to go to as a kid) before church. Some would say I'm crazy, but I love Sunday's!

You are both in my prayers. Much love to you dear Lady Marena, and I will talk to you later today :^)

I cleaned all the cat-pooh boxes and fed/watered 37 moggies this morning. Not an easy thing to do from a wheel-chair, but must do all I possibly can to relieve the stress on David. Wish I could do more.....

Good (my) morning Irish. Thanks for the Facebook message. My poor David has the flu for the 2nd time in 6 weeks. Went to the doc yesterday and he prescribed complete rest for him as he is completely stressed out which has lowered his immune system. He couldn't even go to church this morning to play the keyboard for worship. The first time in 9 years. Please pray for him...

hi pretty lady! sorry to hear you do not feel well. you are in my prayers every morning. votes are appreciated, I will not be here much next round as inlaws will be here from Florida and I do not think I will get to the computer too much. LOL - hard to stay #1 when our "group of 3" are voting elsewhere - I cannot compete with that lol! But nice to still be up top here. I am trying to plan maybe a volunteer stint with them next summer. My brother lives in Colorado & I have not seen his little girl yet (she is 6 mos. old already), so I thought if our finances turn around a bit, maybe I can do kind of a double trip. A visit to Darrin & Liz, then off for a couple of weeks to volunteer since I would be "in the neighborhood".

Been popping in to put in a few votes. The last time I was here, I was shocked to see we had dropped to #2 again. Have not been posting as I've been feeling really lousy....
