Buffalo Field Campaign
PO Box 957
West Yellowstone, MT 59758
Description:
The Buffalo Field Campaign (BFC) is the only group working in the field, everyday, to stop the slaughter and harassment of Yellowstone's wild buffalo. Volunteers from around the world defend buffalo on their traditional winter habitat and advocate for their protection. Our daily patrols stand with the buffalo on the ground they choose to be on, and document every move made against them. Volunteers spend all day, from sunrise until sunset, watching and documenting actions taken against the buffalo. We run patrols from cars, skis and snowshoes to protect buffalo outside the park. Tactics range from video documentation to nonviolent civil disobedience. BFC enjoys incredible support and participation from the local community. Residents allow us to post signs on their property designating them as 'Buffalo Safe Zones.' We offer a fence repair service to mitigate damage caused by wildlife. Locals join us on our daily rounds, and many support our patrols with hot drinks and food. All of our work happens because people are willing to take a break from their usual schedules and come help. Over 3000 people from all over the country and around the world have joined us in our log cabin on Hebgen Lake to help stop the buffalo slaughter. We feed and house all our volunteers in our cabin and Gardner satellite camp. Volunteers patrol for buffalo by skis, snowshoes, or cars. Everyone communicates by a network of hand-held radios, and also carries a video camera. Our office runs outreach programs, including slide and video presentations, summer tabling in Yellowstone Park, website and e-mail updates, and national media coverage through press releases and video.

Lady Marena, I do not nind at all. Sorry to be so scarce, I have been filling out an inch thick stack of court/lawyer papers over the last few days & trying to find copies of all the stuff I need. My own bad for not doing it sooner, but just soooooo frustrating and difficult to stay on top of it. But now we are at a place where it absolutely must get done, so I have been really choring away at it.

Marena, I am so sorry you have been feeling bad. I had a bit of a yucko day yesterday myself, but more mental stress than physical. I do hope you are having a better day today, and hopefully when I get up & around a bit more today we will have some time to talk. Take care of yourself today!

It's half farm lol - the squirrels bury corn & then forget about it, so we mow around it. last year (just this past season that ended) we had 13 stalks with about 20 ears, also 4 along side of the house. Plus, I put random scraps out too, and we had some kind of melon vine growing across about 15 feet of the backyard but it started late so did not fruit. I hope it grows back next year! Also 3 onions and 9 potatoes lol!

He cut your rent in half? Well, at least something good attached to the flooding. Sounds like you have your own wildlife park....

ha ha - ABSOLUTELY LOL!!! basement still floods every 4 months or so but landlord cut rent in half since last Dec. when Barry got laid off from work. Still can only open one window in whole house too! But have 4 squirrels that eat out of my hand (Peanut will actually come right up to the door if I am not out on time!) and now 3 bunnies and a flock of about 40 or so birds!

I've still got a cast iron memory my girl. Are you still living in the same house that got clobbered by the tree, flooded garage and the squirrel in the garden....?
