Farm Animal Reform Movement
10101 Ashburton
Bethesda, MD 20817
Description:
The Farm Animal Reform Movement (FARM) promotes a plant-based diet for the sake of consumer health, global survival, and animal welfare. We are the oldest animal rights organization and we conduct eight national programs, including the Great American Meatout, Bite Global Warming, World Farm Animals Day, Gentle Thanksgiving, Letters From FARM, Sabina Fund, and the annual national animal rights conference. FARM's tactics include a combination of confrontation and discussion. While we occasionally engage in and/or encourage civil disobedience at slaughterhouses and similar attention-getting devices, the majority of our efforts are grassroots educational campaigns, massive media blitzes, and participation in government decision-making processes.

Gorilly, I'm over voting for NRDC, but CCI is still ahead of them. I don't want to ask you to help unless you want to, but FARM already has first place locked up, so the contest is for second place.

CCI is ahead by 16 votes now. I just put out another call on Care2 but I don't know if it will help.

By the way the puritan gal married the stranger and their kids turned out just fine, they were neither pure or strange.

I love history, you are right we don't teach so much in our schools that we should. If we don't understand it then we are more likely to repeat it, and a lot of it isn't pretty.

Thank you for your comments on the Witch story and the slave story, Keairajane. There is much too much U.S. history that isn't taught in schools.
