Farm Animal Reform Movement
10101 Ashburton
Bethesda, MD 20817
Description:
The Farm Animal Reform Movement (FARM) promotes a plant-based diet for the sake of consumer health, global survival, and animal welfare. We are the oldest animal rights organization and we conduct eight national programs, including the Great American Meatout, Bite Global Warming, World Farm Animals Day, Gentle Thanksgiving, Letters From FARM, Sabina Fund, and the annual national animal rights conference. FARM's tactics include a combination of confrontation and discussion. While we occasionally engage in and/or encourage civil disobedience at slaughterhouses and similar attention-getting devices, the majority of our efforts are grassroots educational campaigns, massive media blitzes, and participation in government decision-making processes.

We're pretty far ahead so I'm going over to help NRDC try to catch up with CCI for second place.

Eating Sustainably Flyer

Our new full-color trifold brochure lets readers know that animal agriculture is considered one of the leading causes of pollution and resource depletion today. By choosing vegetarian foods, each of us can help protect our planet—and animals—at every meal. In honor of Earth Day, we're offering our brochure for free, during the month of April only. Request your copies today and start encouraging others to fight global warming and animal abuse with their forks.

Fill out the form below to request up to 250 free copies of this flyer. For larger requests, please email info@cok.net. Thank you for helping spread the animals’ message.

If you have requested literature from us before, just enter your email address below and click “Go.” We will use the address we have on file to deliver your package. Otherwise, please fill out the detailed form below.

Well, I wasn't there, so I don't know. And from the sound of things, I'm really glad I wasn't there.

My Grandmother was a very strong woman... as was her mother before her... My mom has so much iinfo on all of our family tree, that it is almost overwelming at times... I have a hard time keeping them all straight... but we did have people who left Scotland and Ireland because of religious reasons... I think she will have something to say about whether or not they were all puritans that first came over...

Ouch. It is terrible when that happens. It usually only happens after you type a LONG comment too. I wouldn't be surprised if you had wise women ancestors -- you two have to get those traits from somewhere.

Had a big long comment for on the "witches" news item, but my pc froze and I lost it. Will let my mom comment, as she is a history buff and has researched our family extensively...

I tell people they should never feel obligated to read or note what I post. I spend a lot of time on news and I know most people just don't have that much time.

Ideally, every time I send out my news, everyone on my friends list would find at least one story that interests them. But that's just a dream -- the real world doesn't work the want I'd want it to.
