Check out the Pound-for-Pound challenge!

http://www.pfpchallenge.com

Register & Pledge to lose weight now through April 27, log in at the end of the weight-loss period to record how much you lost, and they'll donate $0.10/pound of weight lost to Feeding America!

It's an extra motivator to help those of us who need to lose weight. :-)

You can also save pound-for-pound labels on certain food items and send them in for a $0.10 donation per label.

I'm organizing a Food drive for my local food bank this week, and have become much more aware of how the economy is affecting the food banks. They said they're growing at 4-6 families PER WEEK...which is huge, because right now they've got 108 families. (They had only 77 last summer!) They're worried that they're going to have to change to food distribution once every 2 weeks instead on weekly, because they just can't keep up with demand! This crisis is nationwide (possibly worldwide). So please, consider donating (food or cash) to your local food bank or to ASH. Thanks everyone!

Thanks, Sue!

I do not think we will nominate a special german charity *LoL*. Bu we will support for sure also more international causes.

another thought:

if cp and his team were to nominate a charity that helped
a german cause, i would vote for
it in a heartbeat.
(if marc hadn't abandonded the
site).
they have shown internationl
goodwill in voting here at all.

for the record: ;)

i have voiced concern about
the same groups showing up month
after month in the "top 10".

that is why i chose this cause
to vote for this round.

it would be nice if we could
open our hearts to causes that
have never won a round....
making the site a giving one
rather than a battleground.

deep appreciation to any and all who spent
their hours voting here this
round.

@ Chris: Yep, rifts have become deep lately, true.

Nevertheless: We decided not to click for a win again during the next round starting tomorrow. We will click for PCRM and NRDC again, but we will be satisfied with a good #.

In case another cause is getting in competition to OS we will stay away ...

@CP

That's an honest answer as well.

I'm not assigning blame, because, as you said, there have always been arguments and competition here on V4C, but I just find it sad that it seems the rifts have become so deep lately.

I wish I knew the answer to solve this.

Hi Kamilla,

thanks. Great to have you back at v4c!

@ Chris: That's really an honest answer. I don't know either.

V4C was seldom a peaceful place. Arguments between teams in competition always happened from time to time.

To offend people who were coming for help is a new quality of arguments. That makes the situation difficult and not comparable to the PCRM situation you refered to.
