That sounds cool! I am doing a "forest planting" with some kids in the life sciences class at the local high school where I live. Okay, so it is not a forest (LOL), but it is still cool. What is the charity that you are talking about? Do they have a website?

I've got another charity site that I give a little money each week to. It's a site where teachers in the US submit projects that they would like to do with their students and people fund them. I've helped fund several. If you end up donating over $100 to a project (doesn't have to be all at the same time) you get a whole package in the mail from the teacher and class. It's great! Photos of them with the project you funded, some of their work and ALL of the kids individual thank you letters. I just LOVE that site.

No, if we were all alike, life would be boring. I was part of the crowd voting for the Bird Convervancy to start with. I literally spent hundreds of dollars on my cat colony that basically eats and lives in my backyard. I know where my animal donation money goes.

It's not that I don't support animal causes, because I do. I've donated money to each one that has won that I felt comfortable doing so with, no matter how ugly people were with us at the time.

Thank you Dave & Sheryl. You would not believe how many people are angry with me for being here. I always vote for the Buffalo Field Campaign (or at least start out there), but have helped out other causes too. Yes, until now they have been animal causes that I believed in. But like you Sheryl, I cannot vote for PCRM because of my conscience. Once it became obvious that my votes at BFC were in vain this round, I wanted them to make a difference somewhere. But it really amazes me how many people think that helping families suffering because of a horrible war means I do not really care about animal causes. When in actuality, I care for all that are suffering. And I have friends (? I think?) voting for PCRM, and I am not angry with them.

I'm going to need to climb in bed soon, though. It's almost 5 in the morning. I spent most of yesterday in bed with a migraine, but I did feel good enough to go to the movies with my husband, oldest daughter and son in law.

Andrea, thank you for your bravery in coming over here and doing what you think it right. Not only do you find out that we don't have horns and tails, that we actually DO welcome people who have voted for different causes in the past.

I run my own personal cat rescue AND I'm a nurse, but I can't ethically vote for the group in #1.

Okay - sorry - I am getting off of my soapbox now. Good luck & thanks for having me. People are important too. Especially those who are suffering because Bush has sent their family to war.

And the silly thing about that is that if they were voting for someone not affiliated with PETA, I probably would be voting with them.

Dave and others, I want to say thank you for welcoming me here - you have been nicer than most (not all - but most) of my "animal" friends. It is kind of a shame they are so bent with me, because BFC (who I usually vote for) is going to suffer because I imagine most of them will not come due to me having given you a few votes.
