Description:
The USO (United Service Organizations) is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the troops by providing morale, welfare and recreation-type services to our men and women in uniform. The original intent of Congress - and enduring style of USO delivery - is to represent the American people by extending a touch of home to the military. The USO currently operates more than 130 centers worldwide, including ten mobile canteens located in the continental United States and overseas. Overseas centers are located in Germany, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Qatar, Korea, Afghanistan, Guam, and Kuwait. Service members and their families visit USO centers more than 5.3 million times each year. The USO is the way the American public supports the troops.

Well, I just stopped in to see if the round had ended yet and to see how people were doing. Sorry I couldn't help more, and sorry you missed the win again this time...it was really close, though!

But now I must sleep. G'night everyone!

I think there's room for all sorts of charities here. Sure, there are some that I wouldn't vote for on a bet, but that's a matter of personal preference.

I will say this, the bad actors who lie and connive just so they can win doesn't speak well for them nor the charities that they are supporting.

I'm planning to comment on the post Marc makes about the win and ask if he's gotten any apologies from the Fossey lot for badmouthing him earlier on. :P

Yeah...I think if Marc meant it to be for "small" charities only, he'd screen 'em before he added them. But WWF was the the first winner....and that certainly isn't small!

You should have seen the sturm und drang this afternoon when we were over 1,000 ahead and the site kept crashing.

We were kinda waiting for the site to reset so I could at least get started on the Fistula Foundation...but we entered some sort of time warp here where we have more chances to um, click:P

Then they have the gall to come over and say that our charity has too big an operating budget and that this site should only be for charities with small operating budgets. Good god, I hit "ignore."

Ignore is my new friend.

Wow...they managed to get 60 at a time? That's pretty impressive! Hope the people stick around...maybe diversify to other causes in future rounds.

Hmm...why do I have "come to the dark side" going through my head? Oh yeah, I'm way short on sleep....

Yes, the time for the round is increasing. It was doing the same thing on the "next vote in X minutes" the other day. The time just kept getting longer and longer and you could vote maybe once an hour.

Larkia, kinda hard to win when they have 60 people aligned against you.
